WNBA star Brittney Griner spoke to Robin Roberts about her time as a prisoner in Russia Wednesday night.
Griner was jailed in Russia for 10 months in 2022 after she was found carrying vape cartridges in her luggage at Moscow airport.
During the interview, the WNBA star opened up about her time spent in a plethora of jails including having to use a toilet that was a hole in the ground.
Griner revealed that prisoners were supposed to be outside for 15 minutes but sometimes were left out in the cold for two hours and during those weeks she recalled having suicidal thoughts.

She said she wanted to take her life multiple times during those weeks and said she “definitely thought about it.”
She was afraid Russia wouldn’t release her body to her family and said she had to “endure it.”
